Our Programs & Projects (Pahal)
1. DAKSH
(Vocational Training Coaching Center)
The word “Daksh” originates from the Hindi language which means Capable.
In order to harness the talent of community members and to enrich their
dexterity, Aseem Asha Foundation’s Vocational Training & Coaching Centre
named “Daksh” is currently running four projects.
A. BY Massey
Academic and Competitive Coaching Project
By Massey Academic and Competitive Coaching Project
has been named after Mrs. B.Y. Massey, a prominent educational figure of Amroha,
Uttar Pradesh. She has worked extensively in the field of education, thereby
bringing about a change in the lives of many students. A devoted Christian lady
who had dedicated her entire life to this cause. Per the census 2011, India
had more than 480 million people in the age group of 0-19. This immense pool of
energetic vitality can be utilized in helping India move from a developing to a
developed nation.

Although the government schools of Delhi are excelling in current times, many areas like Okhla are still away from these
facilities. Due to the uneven teacher-student ratio and multiple engagements of the
Teachers, the holistic development of the student gets compromised generally.
They are unable to study thoroughly due to “language barriers” that shrink the
avenues of thinking and reasoning. Students usually don’t have command over any
of the languages (Hindi, Urdu, English) which acts as a learning barrier.
We
require a comprehensive strategy and framework, which can address the issues
where no child remains isolated or unattended. This was the ultimate motivation
of the Aseem Asha Foundation to start the Academic and Competitive Coaching Centre
under Daksh. We also enrich the talent of students by engaging them in
vocational training besides making them focused on academics as well.
B. Sadia
Dehlvi Cutting and Designing Project

impart basic computer literacy to the students of government schools &
community members to enable them in pursuing higher education, improve future
employability, communicate with others, etc. We at Aseem Asha Foundation (AAF)

other communities. To keep this “Chain of Change” expanding with an infinite
circle, conclusively, we get small support from these activities to run our
other programs as well.
A. Fundraising Mixed Media Story Telling Workshop
Fundraising Mixed Media Story Telling Workshop is a series of media training workshops that we have been doing for the last 12 years. In the inception stage, women of
Seelampur, (North East Delhi, Slum area) Communities were trained to make films
highlighting their issues through Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) tools. Usually, it is believed that media is not for the community but post-COVID 19 scenarios required a digitally empowered community. Mixed Media Story
Telling workshops have two levels. The former is a basic level that aims at
digitally empowering the communities in using ICT tools; the latter part of the workshop is the Advance Level which supports beneficiaries to pursue careers in the
field of media only.
A
series of workshops is highly effective in developing and connecting digitally
illiterate people with the outer world. Healthy use of technology is being a
major takeaway from these workshops to prevent technological addiction. In
order to make our content distinct and rich in every aspect, we choose topics
from various domains such as Environment, Health, Gender, Human Trafficking,
Sexual Violence, Child Abuse, Child Labor, Youth Empowerment, Education, Art

5. SAIYAARA (Exposure

‘Saiyaara’ is an Urdu word that means a star orbiting the sky. Education Exposure Visit Program is like a revolving star (Saiyaara) of Aseem
Asha Foundation that supports its beneficiaries to visit various places of
local, national, and international importance. Following are the major excursion
categories.
A. Media
Exposure Visits
The
primary aim behind Media Exposure Visits is to provide practical knowledge and
open avenues of learning and sharing. Since a majority of the population of
Okhla hail from Middle- and lower-income groups and hardly manage to organize
family excursions and that too is for entertainment only. We provide exposure to
various places of Delhi for education and training as we thoroughly discuss
each and every aspect of the visit such as its History, Current relevance, impact
on society, etc. Usually, an orientation program is organized with the
participants before going for the visit. The visit is often followed by a
valedictory lunch or dinner for discussion; informal assignment is given to the
students in form of write up, film, photo album, or group discussion. As of now
beneficiaries of this program have attended many film festivals, symposiums,
seminars such as Rekhta the Urdu Festival, PSBT film festival, CMS Vatavaran
Film Festival. During the visit, they got a golden opportunity to attend sessions
by various luminary personalities of media like Film Maker Neela Madhav Panda,

This
subproject of Sayyara is meant to visit various markets for developing an economical understanding of commodities. Foundation aims at imparting
management and business aptitude among the members at each and every level of
production such as manufacturing, packaging, branding, marketing, selling, etc.
Consequently, they will become vocal for local products and develop the
community trade. Beneficiaries visited International Trade Fairs, Corporate
offices, Auto Expos, etc. for the same.
E. Culinary
Exposure Visits
This is one of the interesting and unique exposure visits under the Sayyara project. Aseem Asha Foundation takes students to various places in Delhi for tasting
Indian cuisines as well as international delicacies. They try a wide range of
food varying from South Indian, North Indian, East Indian, West Indian, Mughlai
to Italian, Chinese, French, and many more. They have also tasted street and

Rajasthan House, Madras House, Street food outlets at CR Park, and various
restaurants of Delhi NCR too. Food appreciation and promotion of healthy eating
are the heart and soul of these visits.
6. REHNUMA
(Career Scope and Guidance)
The
word “Rehnuma” is of Arabic origin and
means "To guide". Under Career Scope and Guidance Program Rehnuma we
aimed at channelizing the talent in the right directions so that their
potential could be employed fully.
Under
this program, we organize various activities for guiding students to go to the
best schools and colleges of Delhi and avail quality higher education. Rehnuma
helps in career counseling, assists in online filling forms, provides support
in paying college & school fees, etc. Entire admission expenses are borne by
Rehnuma such as transportation of general inquiry visits, orientation visits
& ECA trials. It also covers refreshment expenses for each visit. Our
students have enrolled in various reputed colleges such as Jamia Millia
Islamia, University of Delhi (Dayal Singh College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh
College, Ramanujan College, Aurobindo College, etc) & Aligarh Muslim
University. During our career orientation session, we motivate students to
introspect and find the real potential within them that leads to better career
options and great future endeavors.
Bushra
Alvi Razzack Mini Library
Bushra
Alvi Razzack is the Founder of the poetry group “Delhi by Verse”. She writes
poems which is her way of storing memories and recording events. She also translates
short stories from Urdu and Hindi into English. Bushra supported the efforts of
Aseem Asha, to show a kind gesture towards her care we renamed our Mini Library
as Bushra Alvi Razzack Mini Library. It provides free access to huge verities
of books, magazines, periodicals, newspapers such as spiritual, biographies,
short stories, novels, picture books, poetry, science, Arts, Travel, History,
motivational books & national dailies, etc. in Hindi, Urdu, and English
languages. We have a collection of approximately 500 books that students can
read at the foundation or get issued for home as well.
7. INAAYAT (Community
Kitchen)
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhLVnGCTuh4fYuGx7PpT_tmgSA3QR0osV08U0D_lZgFmTVbhlr1H2NPehL5v0Iq4AzCNBgTwZsO26f0xQC2DrLIwrMdMM4gh_HolwOOGkJ9Yl3wLP4JXSRt_5Ef7G3qel7u5MBtf9t9r0TOKNQvM-1T5wlXJgJRkgTcs-KZoAU-_p69GmFw6NPqqxxJ=w301-h535)
“Inayat” refers to “Concern Attention”, though it has been subject to multiple interpretations
in spite of having an Arabic origin. Many Sufi saints such as Hazrat Sufi
Inayat Khan, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, Gareeb Nawaz Moinuddin Chishti are among
the others who promoted the concept of “Langar” (free food distribution) which
is a unique part of Sikhism as well. The tradition of Bhandara is
considered as worship in Hinduism too. Inspired by the principle of caring,
concern, and unity; the foundation distributes food to the community people under
our Community Kitchen program in order to take care nutritional and health
needs of the community. Looking at the eating habits of the community we find most of the people eat fried, spicy & oily food that becomes the breeding ground for many diseases. Even due to the lack of parks and unaffordability of fitness centers people are less interested in their physical wellbeing. An unhealthy lifestyle leads to various chronic diseases such as heart & kidney issues, diabetes, hypertension, etc.
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj96cFMWCwEFZU1EyAOKIEg_M1GOUIJpBZ0KYwUEZTpDz4S-w6GqI5dVjuepa3K3-bbj3T5xzWONtUFsthXm7FPU7WCukvREo3Z2MFT9ONU13fmHGZ2L4a0CE86Tbg1QI78TMj_Gvy_jw0psUjSPfAwc4hc5x2z_qEgLP8f7QOliffeXYf_baIF19bJ=w357-h554)
To promote healthy eating and
sharing values inspired by the rich Sufi tradition of Dastarkhwan we initiated the Inaayat
program. We specifically train boys in various kitchen-related activities such
as cleaning, cooking, rinsing, garnishing, serving, trying new dishes, etc. We
also organize the Kitchen Champion competition to give a platform to their culinary
art & skill which is followed by prize distribution. The future plan of Inaayat is to open an InayatKhana
(A food chain of the community) for earnings to make the community commercially viable
and self-sustaining. Poverty eradication, woman empowerment, and community
development will be the guiding forces behind it.
8. UTKARSH (Art
Excellence & Community Leadership Awards)
Ancient Sanskrit word “Utkarsh” means improvement
or advancement & eminence. Art Excellence and community leadership awards Utkarsh
